From "Azenha do Valente"
to this day...
Moagem Carlos Valente is an ancient mill, that was also known as "Azenha do Valente", and some of its first records of existance are dated of the year of 1810.
It is located in Vale de Ílhavo, Aveiro, in a rural village that erstwhile presented a wide production of cereals and a large number of mills, and one of which is ours, still working nowadays. Our mill has the experience and knowledge of four generations, that commited to the production and delivery of corn, wheat, oat and rye flours. As our village is remarkably known for the quality and taste of our bread ever since, the remaining mills will always be a part of its success, not only as suppliers, but also because the mills fulfill the bakers needs to produce a good primary product, that it was for a long time, the population feed basis.
The lack of hydraulic power as the market increased, brought the need to develop more efficient facilities, that could satisfy the actual need. At first put to work with combustion engines, and now with electric ones, our mill powers 6 pairs of mills stone that allow us to make a craft product with all the quality of the old days, but also with the technology and efficiency required nowadays.
